On this campout the troop camped on the shores of Kerr Lake, the traditional spot for the Water Weekend. This year the troop brought both canoes and kayaks. Before the boating started, a Safe Swim area was set up, so Scouts had a choice between swimming and boating.
The Scouts cut to the chase, the lake.
Several Scouts patrol the boats, looking for a good one.
He’s found one!
Each Scout buddied up with a partner and took their boat into the water.
The Scouts had two options: boating or swimming.
Out in the water, there were a few traffic jams
Boats and swimmers kept to their respective areas, to avoid accidents.
As people tired out, a nap on the beach started to look nice.
At lunch time, the Scouts work together to get everything cooked.
Sometimes a Leader’s expertise is needed to make food a success.
Lunch is served!
And when everyone is finished, the tents are waiting for them.
